If you have a question, chances are that someone else has had the same one. Check out our FAQs below and see if they help. If your question is not answered here, email us and we’ll do all we can to help!
You can post short bits of info to our TweetGrid through Twitter and comment on UpUrAlley reviews and stories via the blog. In the future UpUrAlley will include additional community features that enable you to engage with the site on an even greater level.
You can also post housing ads and paid job ads. You cannot post content on advertorials.
On the TweetGrid, your content will be replaced as new tweets arrive – so it will depend on how much people are talking on the site!
In other areas, your content may last for a set period of time – view the Advertising section to find out how long job and house listings will remain on the site.
If you make a comment on any of the stories in the blog, however, your comment will be there as long as UpUrAlley is.
Yes, your comments go through our web moderator before being posted. We want lively discussion, so we don’t censor people’s opinions. The only time we would intervene is if content was deemed to be offensive or inflammatory. In these situations, you will receive an email notification to let you know that your post will not be appearing on the site.
Businesses and individuals can place job ads under our Jobs section and housing ads under our Housing section.
Businesses can also place adverisements on our homepage or gateway pages. Refer to our Advertising section for full details.
First, check out our advertising rates in the Advertising section.
Then, if you want to place a housing or job listing, simply fill out one of the forms linked below. If you are a business wanting to place an image advertisement or advertorial on the site, please make a direct enquiry to ads@upuralley.com.
We don’t want to fool you into believing content is unbiased when its not, so we make it easy to tell the difference between a review and an advertorial. Reviews are generally between 500 and 1000 words long, and you will be able to comment on them. Advertorials always appear on pink backgrounds, and they’re generally between 50 and 200 words long. Advertorials only last on the site for up to a month, and users can’t comment on them.
If you’d like to write a review for us, simply email us with your name and contact details, and the name of the place you’d like to review.
If you’re not sure where to look for what you want, try our Site Tour.
If you are having trouble posting to the site, make sure that your browser is set up to accept cookies. If you’re still having difficulty, email us with your problem and we’ll endeavour to fix it within 2–3 days.
While we encourage our users to respect one another and show courtesy, occasionally we may get a bad egg. If someone is posting content that you deem to be inflammatory or offensive, report it to us and we’ll respond within 24 hours.
